Jared started his career in the art & framing industry in 1991 in Australia, specialising in the area of sales, equipment training and education.
He has previously worked full-time as a Product Manager for Larson-Juhl Australia, and also part-time as an international consultant and educator for GUNNAR, based in Switzerland. Jared is also a contributing editor to Picture Framing Magazine, with his regular column, Sales Strategies.
Keeping up ahead of industry advancements in technology, as well as the changing methods and techniques of framing, Jared has always been in the vital position of offering technical support and education to both new & experienced framers across the industry.
Jared is well know to most Australian framing businesses, working at the cutting edge of the industry's CMC revolution as it happened, and was responsible for installing the first computerised mat cutters in Australia. In 2007, Jared authored the popular book "Getting the most value from your CMC", which shows framers how to unlock the profit and potential of their computerized mat cutters.
Jared is recognized for his support of industry associations, guilds and education. He is a committee member on the board for the Professional Picture Framers Association (PPFA) in Australia. In 2013, Jared was elected to the PPFA International Board of Directors.
In 2015 Jared was privileged to become the first western industry educator to be given the opportunity to teach at the AFAExpo in Beijing, China, on behalf of Larson-Juhl, and has returned to China to teach advance framing and business workshops several times since.
Jared has been awarded the prestigious designations of: MCPF® - Master Certified Picture Framer® by the Professional Picture Framers Association in the US, and GCF - Guild Commended Picture Framer by the Fine Art Trade Guild in the UK.
Jared is also holds a Certificate III in Picture Framing (QLD), as a trade qualified Picture Framing, which is nationally recognised by government and training bodies across Australia.
These industry recognised credentials are achieved undertaking taking a combination of thorough written examinations, and stringent practical tests.
Master Certified Picture Framers (MCPF®) are awarded their qualification by the Professional Picture Framers Association (PPFA).
It certifies that one can demonstrate a superior framing skills, and is recognised as the industry's most comprehensive test of practical preservation and framing knowledge.
The MCPF® requires a pre-requisite designation of CPF® (Certified Picture Framer), before the MCPF® examination can be performed.
The PPFA first initiated the CPF® program in 1986, to raise the standards of the framing profession, improved education within the industry, and recognise those framers who demonstrate a higher knowledge & skill in the framing profession. Jared is one of only 5 MCPF® qualified framers in Australia, and less than 60 across the globe.
Guild Commended Framers (GCF) are awarded their qualification by the Fine Art Trade Guild (FATG), an international trade association for the industry based in the UK. Advanced framing skills and knowledge are rigorously examined by and independent Guild appointed tester. Less than 1000 framers worldwide have achieved this distinction, and there are less than 20 GCF qualified framers in Australia.
