The GUNNAR 601 was a computerized mat cutter designed for high-volume production in framing businesses. Its construction prioritized reliability and efficiency, making it a key tool for professionals in the industry. The machine featured cut-to-the-edge button clamping, which ensured precision during operation.

Equipped with two cutting heads capable of 45° and 90° angle cuts, the GUNNAR 601 allowed users to perform openings and outer cuts simultaneously, streamlining the workflow. 

It included automatic blade depth adjustment (DBD) for cutting v-grooves or double mats. The COE-mode functionality enabled consecutive cutting on two surfaces, enhancing productivity. 

The GUNNAR 601 was available in two configurations: the 601-XL and the 601-RS second generation, which was slightly faster.
