Jared began his career in the Australian art and picture framing industry in 1991, joining the team at Hughes Mouldings, a leading wholesale framing supplier. Over the next 15 years, he worked as both an account manager and product manager, playing a key role in helping the business more than double in size. His time there laid the foundation for a deep understanding of supply chain operations, customer relationships, and product development.
While working at Hughes, Jared also spent weekends and spare time helping out in several custom framing stores across Brisbane. These hands-on roles gave him valuable insight into the daily challenges faced by independent framers and the creative problem-solving needed on the front line.
In 2006, Jared joined Megawood Mouldings as Product Manager. His role expanded into technical support and training across a wide range of picture framing equipment and machinery. Jared was responsible for managing several major international brands including GUNNAR, Cassese, Fletcher-Terry, Nielsen Bainbridge, and Tru Vue. From troubleshooting mitre saws to demonstrating cutting-edge automation, this was where his technical expertise truly came into its own.
When Megawood was acquired by Larson-Juhl, part of the Berkshire Hathaway group, Jared transitioned into the role of Business Development and Marketing Manager. He specialised in framing sales strategies, staff training, and customer education. Over the next decade, he delivered workshops and presentations for custom framers across Australia, New Zealand, Asia, and the United States.
His growing passion for conservation led him to develop and manage a new division of the business focused on archival-grade materials, including museum-quality products from Conservation by Design in the UK. Jared's ability to bridge both commercial and technical knowledge helped position Larson-Juhl as a trusted source of conservation framing solutions.
In 2020, Jared joined the senior management team at Frames Now in Melbourne, one of Australia’s largest custom framing retailers. With multiple locations across the city, he supported both the retail and wholesale sides of the business during a time of rapid growth and digital transformation.
